The Kiwanis Club of Wedowee is a non-profit organization dedicated to "Serving the Children of the World". Kiwanis raises money to get iodine to countries that do not have iodine plants for their salt, which is a severe problem that causes mental retardation. Club is organized to serve the community of Wedowee. Members are currently engaged in projects at the schools, the Wedowee Hospital, Ava Hills Assisted Living, Senior Center, and Meals on Wheels. Members also assist in community events such as Lake cleanup, Kids' Fishing Day, fishing tournaments, etc. Everyone is welcome to become a member. Regular Club meeting is on the second Tuesday of each month (September-May) at 2:00 PM at the Hub Restaurant.
Volunteer program in which participants are trained in home horticulture through the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Members donate time teaching, planting, mainting, and sharing with Randolph and surrounding communities.
Business meeting held the first Monday of the month at Awbrey library in Roanoke at 3pm. to discuss/plan classes, tours and events. All welcome
we are a youth operation serving the youth ages 5-19 of randolph county we give help with homework, offer tutoring, danceteam, sports, healthy living and cooking classes, arts and crafts and technology.
we are always ready for new members at the club feel free to come by and visit with us we always have something positive going on .
